Following the moderate success of his initial two studio albums, Ah y Qu ? (2020) and Efectos Secundarios (2021), Pluma collaborated with Raul Vega to release El Belic n in 2022. The album sold 480,000 units and earned an 8x Platinum Latin certification from the RIAA. Subsequently, he released the extended play Sembrando and the controversial duet Siempre Pendientes with Luis R Conriquez, which entered the Billboard Global 200 and received a 5x Platinum Latin certification. Pluma’s collaborations with Natanael Cano on AMG (with Gabito Ballesteros) and PRC became huge hits in the Latin music community after gaining popularity on TikTok, both charting on the Billboard Hot 100.
